FBC-K Local Missions
A list of many previous local mission endeavors our church has completed can be found on the Missions page, along with local ministries we support. On this page, you will find out more about our most recent local mission activities and opportunities.
Our church hosts Samaritan's Table every Monday to feed local people who are hungry who come for a meal, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Angel Tree Ministry
The "Angel Tree" is in the hallway behind the sanctuary each December. Those interested remove an angel from the tree, record the information on the book beside the tree, and purchase items suggested on the paper. Gifts and food collection happen through mid-December and deliveries take place on a Saturday just before Christmas.
Operation Inasmuch (OIAM) & Dental Bus
Our church members of ALL ages serve in various areas around the community in Kannapolis doing projects such as home repair for the elderly, yard work, litter removal, a blood drive, a medical/dental bus, paint and beautification projects, and much more. Serving in other parts of the world is important, but also right outside of our back doors! OIAM is an annual day of service, usually in May.
"Love Your Neighbor" Hometown Mission Week 2020
Since our other mission opportunities (in other states) were canceled due to COVID-19, we brought it home and did missions in our own home town! We served one family in Kannapolis and one in Concord. (See slideshow to the right of this block).
Thank you to all volunteers, young, old, and everywhere in between... whether hands-on or behind-the-scenes. Thank you, neighbors, for trusting us with your homes. It was a true privilege to get to know both your families this week! The body of Christ and the span of generations serving together was beautiful to behold. The First Baptist Kannapolis Family is beautiful to behold. Thank You, God, for giving us this opportunity. As always, You have been so faithful!
