College Students/Young Adults
It’s our goal to keep college students and young adults connected to the local church, growing in their faith, and using their gifts for the glory of God.
Our ministry to young adults (college students to twenty-somethings) centers on our Sunday morning small-group time. We meet each Sunday morning at 9:45am in the library on the second floor.
Throughout the year we may study a certain book of the Bible or focus on a certain topic.
Fellowship opportunities are scheduled periodically. Many times college students are invited to participate in, or in some cases help lead, our youth events. We also plan and encourage our college students and young adults to participate in missions opportunities. Recently a group traveled to Ukraine to work with orphans, gypsies, and the local Ukrainian church.
Each college student who is away at school is randomly selected as our “college student of the week” several times throughout the school year. Once selected, they will receive about 13 postcards of encouragement from various church members that week. We also give a gift subscription of Relevant magazine to each of our college students living away from home. Relevant is a Christian magazine designed for college students. Care packages full of candy and notes of encouragement are sent during exam times. |
